Portal 2 is a really difficult game, and you’ll agree with me if you’ve played the Peer Review DLC that was recently released as a free DLC pack, which proved that sitting in a chamber for an hour trying to figure out how to get a cube on a button can be exhausting. This recent announcement is about to make things a whole lot more fun.
Valve have revealed what the next piece of downloadable content for Portal 2 is going to be. The update will bring an easy-to-use in-game map editor to Portal 2, something that console gamers have waited for since the original Portal. PC gamers have been able to build custom maps for a while and now console gamers will be able to do it too.
I’ve always wanted to make some kind of Portal map, I can’t imagine doing a really complex one, but being able to coat 100 turrets in bouncy gel should make the game pretty interesting. And I’m sure the budding map creators out in the wild will let their creative juices flow and create some darn difficult maps. You can share these maps online and vote on them too.
Expect the In-Game Editor to be released early next year.
