After a fairly lackluster launch and, well, all-around existence, Microsoft is sending the Kinect into new territory. Starting next year, Microsoft is going to launch Kinect for Windows commercial, a business-oriented program.
So far, over 200 businesses have signed up for the pilot program, snagging them early access to the updated development kit. For those interested in seeing what the tools have to offer, the SDK is already available.
I have to say that this is a pretty smart move on Microsoft’s part: board rooms might actually have enough space to use the Kinect properly…for once.
