If you grew up with Sonic, you’ll know it’s his twentieth birthday this year. SEGA’s celebrating with Sonic Generations, a game that combines all eras of Sonic into one adventure. Archie’s just ran a special Sonic Genesis storyline, going back to the hero’s roots. For Thanksgiving, SEGA’s looking back at the days of parades past.
Sonic the Hedgehog will be returning to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a new float.
On Thanksgiving, the Sonic balloon will sky rocket into the atmosphere with massive blue spikes, his signature white gloves and red shoes, shining in the sun. For his parade return, Sonic will measure approximately 48-feet tall, 60-feet long, and 26-feet wide, solidifying his presence, once again, as a historic character in the 2011 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade line-up.
Famously, the Sonic float had a bit of an accident in previous years. The original design of the hero was punctured and crashlanded, injuring two people. The design has been updated for the current look of the character.
Are you hoping for another Sonic Boom?
