Metal Gear Solid 5 Not Happening…Yet

Last week, the Official PlayStation Magazine UK teased an interview with Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima. Furthermore, OPM UK implied that Kojima’s interview revealed the existence of Metal Gear Solid 5.

It seems that was a tad misleading. Now that the information has had an entire weekend to spread, OPM supplied a little clarification today using a direct quote from Kojima:

I think we’ll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea. As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won’t be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can’t do again.

So, is there a Metal Gear Solid 5? Currently, it’s nothing more than a twinkle in Kojima’s eye — if even that. Right now, I think we need to worry about whether or not Metal Gear Solid: Rising is still a thing. Boy, do I hope so; those watermelons really need to be put in their place.
