Skyrim Is The First Western Game To Ever Receive A Perfect Score From Famitsu

Skyrim has just become the first western game to ever receive a perfect score in Japan’s Famitsu magazine. For those who don’t know Famitsu is a revered and long running video games magazine in which each game is scored out of ten by four different people, for a total score out of 40. According to Andriasang, Skyrim has received four 10/10 scores in the magazine, and while Japanese games occasionally reach that perfect score, a western game has never pushed above a score of 39 in the 25 years the magazine has been in circulation.

In total Skyrim is only the 17th game to receive a perfect score from the magazine, joining the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Soulcalibur.

It’s a milestone achievement and a well deserved one as our review attests, not that there aren’t other western games that probably deserved that score as well.
