Top Pirated Games Of 2011

TorrentFreak has compiled a list of the most pirated games of 2011 across the PC, Wii, and Xbox 360. They’ve excluded the PS3 and other platforms like the 3DS and whatnot because they have substantially lower figures, but that doesn’t stop this statistical roundup from being fascinating.

The top PC game is Crysis 2, partly, I’m sure, due to the one month-advanced leaked copy and because people figured this sequel would become the standard PC graphics benchmark much like the original Crysis did (it didn’t).

For Wii, it was Super Mario Galaxy 2, and for the 360, it was Gears of War 3. It seems pretty obvious that those two games were the biggest triple-A exclusive releases for those two platforms, although SMG2 is from 2010. I guess that means pirates have good taste in games, albeit a bit late on the Wii, right?
