A Video Game Reality Show Using Street Fighter X Tekken

To help promote the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom is planning a reality series where players can compete in the game and score big bucks.

Announced by Neidal “Haunts” Crisan of fighting game website iPlayWinner, the reality show Cross Assault will feature 10 players with five representing either Team Street Fighter or Team Tekken. For seven days, Cross Assault will document these players being taught by high level players of the fighting game community and will fight each other until one player is left to win the $25,000 grand prize.

Instead of being a televised event much like other competitive reality shows, Capcom will be collaborating with popular fighting game streams iPlayWinner and Team Sp00ky to help cover this week-long event. The finale event will be taking place in Atlanta, GA as part of the popular East Coast tournament series Final Round XV.

The game will be arriving on March 6 but chosen contestants will be able to try it when Cross Assault airs on late Feb. For those who might be good at fighting games and are interested in competing, please submit a video here. You have to be of at least 18 years old when submitting and must present proof prior if accepted.

Make sure to check out Capcom-Unity and iPlayWinner regularly for updates on Cross Assault. For now, here is a video detailing a bit more on the event featuring Haunts.
