During a recent episode of the Japanese Pokemon television show, Pokemon Smash, Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda announced a sequel to Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. The surprise announcement had another odd tidbit of information attached to it – the game will release solely on the Nintendo DS, as opposed to the newer tech in the 3DS. The game will release in Japan in June, but the US date hasn’t yet been confirmed or announced. Masuda also promised to reveal the names of the legendary Pokemon sometime next week. It sucks a little wind from the sails of a new Pokemon game announcement for me personally when there’s a brand new Nintendo device on the market, but the game will be releasing on the old tech. But it’s been a pretty short break between new games, so here’s to hoping that a full 3D Pokemon game isn’t too far off.
