Yesterday, an illustration depicting the main character in the final chapter in Ubisoft’s templar killing franchise Assassin’s Creed was leaked by a Best Buy employee. The still unnamed character was clearly set in an american revolution timeline with native american references, like a set of weapons that included a (very badass) hatchet, a bow and a revolutionary pistol.
Perhaps in a somewhat forced response to yesterday’s leak, Ubisoft released today the official box art for Assassin’s Creed III, whose main character’s features coincide almost completely with the aforementioned leak. The difference, however, relies in how incredibly bad-ass the new box-art looks.
Contrasting previous designs, this one is pure gut and chaos. Oh and that hatchet almost single-handedly guaranteed my purchase of the game.
Assassin’s Creed III is set to release this Q4 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and it has the weight of giving an end to the Desmond (who in turn let us explore Altair and Ezio’s lives) storyline.
