Before there was Angry Birds, Team17 crafted a game with creatures angling attacks at each other. Personally, I believed it reached it’s pinnacle with Armageddon, but Team17 has been plugging away at adding to the franchise in recent years. Worms Revolution has been announced for PC and consoles (likely, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade).
Team17 is proud to announce the forthcoming release of Worms™ Revolution. The game has been developed from the ground up and features a completely new game-engine. Exciting new features and challenges have been introduced whilst old favourites such as the Super Sheep and Holy Hand Grenade remain to thrill fans worldwide.
The franchise was known for it’s absurd weapons, such as the aforementioned Holy Hand Grenade and Super Sheep. Players could use simple stuff like a baseball bat to knock opponents into the water, or blowtorch deep into cavernous areas. It’s a franchise that, beyond some awkward attempts at 3D gameplay, has scaled with the times. Online gameplay, achievements, and a retaining of sprite-based gameplay have made the franchise timeless.
Me? I just want to drop a Concrete Donkey on enemies. Still, the water balloon in the logo indicates a potential new art of war.
