TopGear May DLC Coming To Forza 4

Great News! There is a new Dacia Sandero DLC pack coming to Forza 4! Launching May 1st, the TopGear Car Pack will bring another 10 cars to Forza Motorsport 4.

The list of cars in this pack goes even farther than the usual hodgepodge of cars do. Ranging from a 1200-hp supercar, to a sub 100-hp microcar, to the first van to ever be featured in Forza. Without further ado, the list:

2012 Hennessey Venom GT
1977 AMC Pacer X
2011 Ford Transit SuperSportVan
2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
1966 Lotus Cortina
1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
2012 Smart ForTwo
1990 Subaru Legacy RS
2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8
1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII

This marks the first monthly release of DLC since the end of the season pass. So everyone, even season pass users, will have to purchase this separately for $7 (560MSP), or you can buy the cars individually for 160-240msp. We always knew that the car pack titles only had loose associations to their contents, but this time it’s quite unfitting. None of these cars have ever appeared on Top Gear, and in most cases no generation of them have either (for instance no Mitsubishi Galant or Subaru Legacy has ever been on the show no matter what model year, and there hasn’t been a single car made by AMC ever on the show.)

Turn 10 seems to be missing the mark here. Their position is that they try to appeal to all fans with each pack, but this random mix of Japanese drifters, vintage sports cars, and the one random inclusion of a supercar dosent form a pack most users will be interested in. Once again Turn 10 has, in their own write up, mentioned more interesting cars then the ones they chose to include. If you know the 2011 Ford Transit SuperSportVan is “tamer” than the ’71 SuperSport based off the legendary GT40, then why include it over the obviously more interesting model?

And a Jeep Wrangler? Seriously? I’m all for firsts in Forza, but if you are gonna put in a car from Land Rover why not include the beautiful new Range Rover Evoque? This pack is a major disappointment, especially since fans have been clamoring for tracks and not more average cars. Hopefully the Porsche Pack, which hasn’t been mentioned since its announcement, will provide some more interesting vehicles. And please Turn 10, more tracks!

Note that the Subaru Legacy was in TopGear’s 2007 Car of the Year Awards, next to the Ford Mondeo.

  • What an odd collection of cars.  Definitely going to download this pack.

Like D.Lee aid the Legacy actually was on Top Gear in an older episode. You should also note that None of those cars are “Japanese Drifters” Both the Galant VR-4 and the Subaru Legacy RS are All-Wheel Drive, and certainly not drift cars. They are closer to Rally cars than anything else. Japanese Drift cars are nearly always Rear-Wheel Drive.
