Xbox Live Dashboard Beta Re-Opens For More Entrants

Microsoft has reopened the Xbox Live Dashboard Beta to another 500,000 participants. This is the second round of slots to enter the Beta and it may be the last as the launch of the final update for all gamers will be coming in the next couple of months.

For people like me that missed out a chance of entering the dashboard beta the first time round the is a great chance to get my name in the hat and see what the new dashboard is like before it is released to everyone. The Beta re-opened yesterday and I’m unsure if all of the slots have been filled. Microsoft’s servers were hit pretty badly by all the people trying to sign up and once I had been accepted into the Beta, I was completely unable to access the site to get your key to put in your Xbox. Major Nelson has mentioned on Twitter that these keys will be available to get later on the week when the site has less traffic of people signing up.

The main feature of the new Dashboard is Internet Explorer but other new additions are also included. For full details on the Beta and how to sign up, head on over to Major Nelson’s Blog.
