So I spent today doing this thing. I couldn’t decide what to call it (I seemed to narrow it down to Game Time or Game Town, and for some reason or another I chose the latter), but it’s a video of me playing Killer is Dead, the latest from Suda51 and his studio Grasshopper Manufacture. I threw together a dumb intro sequence with some original music and this is what resulted.
It’s kind of long and rambling since I had no idea Killer is Dead is such a cutscene-heavy game, but here we are. If you’re asking why I did this, it’s because video game journalism is in video now and has been for a long time. There’s still a place for writing, but without a video component to your coverage, it’s a lot harder to maintain any semblance of relevance without a humongous staff of folks churning out articles all day (which we don’t have).
Please go ahead and leave your comments if you so desire. The opening is a bit rough as I say “uh” a lot, but it picks up from there, I promise. Yes, I have a dumb voice, and no, I don’t do very well. Talking emphatically and playing well at the same time is a learned skill, and it’s one that I’ve yet to learn.
Also, when I say I played Killer is Dead at PAX East, I meant to say I played it at E3. Oops!
