<itunes:summary>Platform Nation is a collaboration of several gaming podcasts who decided it would be best for our gamers, the podcasters and the rest of the gaming community if they came together to share efforts. Together we have a larger voice in the community for the gamers that we strive to speak for. We share the same forums and for the most part, share the same listeners. After all, we are a community, not a network Platform Nation, United We Game.</itunes:summary>

The sequel to Visceral Games survival horror Dead Space will contain online multiplayer according to a recent job advert:

“Seeking a highly motivated Senior Online Level Designer for the Dead Space franchise on Xbox360 and PS3. This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new franchise”

While nothing official has been announced the listing, posted on Linkedin on November 13th, confims some type of online multiplayer with the applicant required to “Conceptualize, script, direct, and build online levels for the game”.

Hopefully this new focus on multiplayer doesn’t cause a detrimental effect on the single player, a trend which is increasing in recent times. The use of the word “script” in the listing suggests that a cooperative mode could be included which seems to fit the game more than competitive online and has been proven to work in Resident Evil 5 and Uncharted 2.

Dead Space 2 is currently scheduled for a 2010 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
