Replika, the upcoming 3-D Action/Strategy Hybrid Cyberpunk Game on the PS3 that I mentioned earlier, has been very tight lipped about any details other than a creative director and a music group providing the soundtrack to the game. Today, the game’s creator Bruno Patatas has released a photo revealing the main character:

Blur announced that on Thursday, March 25th they are raising the level cap from 10 to 15 and by doing this releases the following items for you to explore:

Additional Cars Unlocked:

- Corvette ZR1 (Class B)

- Koenigsegg CCX-R (Class A)

Additional Mods Unlocked:

- Iron Fist (Increases damage of a Power-up hit)

- Last Gasp (Player fires a Barge when Wrecked)

Additional Challenges Unlocked:

- Demolition Challenge Pack (16 new challenges)
I trust that these new upgrades and unlocks will keep you entertained until the game’s arrival later this year.

in 3-D!

Biodroid Productions announces ‘Replika’ a new title currently in development for the PlayStation Network.

Replika is an action/strategy hybrid cyberpunk adventure. According to the press release and unnamed female will be the lead character.

Details are still scarce on this upcoming game, but one thing that DID catch my eye is the fact the game is being developed with native stereoscopic 3D support in order to “provide the player a truly immersive gameplay experience.”

There is no word from the official website as far as a release date, or which countries will get this game as any details for the game are still pretty thin at the time this article went live, but I will be sure to keep the Platform Nation up to date as more details emerge.

With the announcement of Nintendo’s new “3DS” and the presence of 3D TVs in Best Buy, seems like the 3-D game revolution is starting to pick up. What do you think? Is 3D really the next step, or is this just going to be a passing fad?

This is going to be a place where if you have a great idea, or think Sony’s dropped the ball by not including something you can submit it to this website, and your peers can vote on it. It seems like the more popular ideas will be considered more than others.

Currently Here are the most popular ideas:

• Cross Game Video Chat
• Auto Synching trophies
• PSN Store access on the PC/Mac
• PS2 Software Emulation
• Re-Release of Jak & Daxter (Ok, that one is actually MY idea)

NIER is coming to North American Shores on April 27, 2010. When the game is released, there are going to be a few questions that gamers are going to have in regards to the origin of this story and the unique characters.

Square-Enix realizes this and instead of giving us a Prequel game 2 years from now to explain things (hello Kingdom Hearts) They have partnered up with DC Comics and will be releasing a 3-part Comic series that will be available on NIER’s website, the PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live.

According to the Press Release, they have some big names working on this comic, such as:

Emmy-winning creator and executive producer Ricardo Sanchez; Pop Mhan, whose work has appeared on everything from Spider-Man and Ghost Rider at Marvel Comics to Batgirl and The Flash at DC Comics; Eddie Nuñez, who works on the soon-to-be released DC Universe MMO; and, Carlos D’Anda, who has worked on notable comic book titles such as Justice League of America, Deathblow, and Lego’s Bionice, was the lead Character Designer on the bestselling Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Arkham Asylum and is the Lead concept Artist on the DC Universe MMO from Sony Online Entertainment.

This 3-part series will be available between now and the game’s release. At the writing of this article, the comics were not available online, so I suggest waiting until later on today, or possibly Thursday. I plan on reading this comic book series especially after Scott insisted that we all should support comic books in episode 10 of Lock & Load.

Sony is upgrading their Virtual Playground Home to version 1.35 tomorrow. one of the biggest things they are touting this version is the logging in process. They are streamlining the login process to get users in faster than ever before. Sony is also adding categories to help users find spaces faster. These new categories include:

• Favorites: Personalize your own section to make locating and going to your favorite places quick and simple.
• Personal Spaces: Your clubhouses and personal spaces are now right at your fingertips. The personal spaces you own and the clubhouses you belong to will be viewable in one convenient location.
• Friends: Finding your friends that are signed into PlayStation Home has never been simpler. View the current location of your friends in PlayStation Home, and then navigate there to enjoy the action together.
• Explore: Browse all the spaces PlayStation Home offers. Finding spaces that suite your taste and mood is now even easier.
• Recommended: Keep up with what is “hot” in PlayStation Home. This regularly updated category will feature the newest and most exciting spaces and additions to PlayStation Home.

Sony also took the time to mention that they have over 12 million registered users worldwide that spend an average of 60 minutes per session. Personally, I haven’t been home in quite sometime now. This might be
enough to bring me back, I just hope there’s some apple pie waiting for me or something.

Looks like Sony is really doing their best to solidify their place as an all around entertainment device. With 3D TVs already on their way to American shores, and the PS3 a firmware update away from playing 3D games, looks like Sony will be saying “First” a few more times in the near future.
