The release of The Darkness II is right around the corner, so we are here to share some information for the returning fans of The Darkness as well as some news for the new comers to this awesome sequel that will be sure to please.

First a little more about The Darkness II:

The Darkness II is the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 release The Darkness. Inspired by the popular comic book series produced by Top Cow Productions, Inc., The Darkness II is an intense first person shooter that puts you in the role of Jackie Estacado, don of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient force of chaos known as The Darkness.

It’s been two years since Jackie used his power to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up The Darkness and now it wants out. A botched attempt on Jackie’s life opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, and sets Jackie on a brutal and personal journey as he unravels the mystery behind the attack and the motives of The Darkness.

The Darkness II is set for release next week (2/7) for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360. In the meantime be sure to download the demo for The Darkness II, and get a look at the game that many of us are looking forward to.

Today not only can we provide you with a release date for Risen 2: Dark Waters, but we have the box art for the upcoming game. The official release date for Risen 2: Dark Waters is April 24th, 2012 for USA and Canada and April 27th, 2012 for countries in Europe. So mark your calenders for this upcoming RPG. Now for a little more about Risen 2: Dark Waters, and stay tuned until the end as we have the reveal trailer for you to take a look at as well.

In Risen 2: Dark Waters, the Inquisition dispatches the hero to seek a remedy against the monstrous sea creatures that are interfering with the shipping lines, thus cutting off the islands’ supplies. The pirates seem to know how to deal with these critters … but they are hardly cooperative.
New gameplay elements add to the diversity of Risen 2; for example, players can also use firearms now. And, being pirates, adventurers can also employ special new skills called Dirty Tricks, allowing them to confuse or attack enemies in combat.

As many of you may know by listening to P*N’s Lock and Load podcasts I rarely pay for apps, as there are so many great free Apps out there, but Scribblenauts Remix was different. Scribblenauts Remix is one of the few Apps I have paid for and it was worth every penny I paid for it. That is why I am bringing you this news as Scribblenauts Remix is on sale through the Holidays for .99 cents.

Interactive Entertainment introduced Scribble Speak, a new voice recognition feature for its top-ranked Scribblenauts Remix App further expanding the groundbreaking Scribblenauts franchise’s innovative game play. Now available exclusively for iPhone 4S, the voice option lets players say the objects that they want to create and have appear in the game.

In Scribblenauts Remix, created by 5TH Cell and developed by Iron Galaxy, gamers write any word, modify it with adjectives and bring that object to life to solve puzzles. To use the Scribble Speak voice feature, players simply tap on the keyboard microphone icon to create objects through speech. The text field populates with what the player said. Players can let their imaginations run wild by solving challenges with objects they’ve created such as a “robotic, plaid llama” or a “gigantic, candy-coated triceratops.”

New details have emerged on the new South Park game that is being developed by Obsidian.

The story takes place in South Park and you will play as the new kid in town during an adventure that started from some  live-action role playing.

As with any self-respecting RPG you will be able to create a character in one of several classes: wizard, paladin, adventurer, rogue or a new style which will be made up by Cartman.

The game will utilise the engine developed for Obsidian’s Dungeon Siege III and will match the 2D art style used in the show. The battle system will borrow elements from other game such as Paper Mario and Final Fantasy VII. The battles will be turned based and you will be able to improve the power of an attack by pressing buttons during it. You will also be able to customise your weapons with enhancements that deal additional elemental damage.

An in-game smart phone will be used for the games menu system with different apps for different functions; for example, a Facebook-like app will allow you to manage your character as well as keep track of your popularity with the various factions.

South Park: The Game is currently scheduled for release sometime in 2012.

Konami’s upcoming, dismembering, and generally rocking title NeverDead has gone largely without mention. Rebellion Development’s production, featuring a hero that cannot die (reminiscent of some Wario titles on the Game Boy Color?) but can be maimed, mauled, and otherwise destroyed, looks to be an insane action title. Megadeth does the theme song, after all. The “3rd person shooter/extreme amputation simulator” will be hitting Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 31st next year.

500 years ago, Bryce Boltzmann was cursed with immortality. In the modern day, he teams up with PI Arcadia, hunting demons that have cursed him for centuries. Bryce may get his head ripped off, but he can then throw it at enemies, acquire new limbs, and limp around legless; whatever gets the job done. The title shouldn’t be NeverDead, it should be Katamari Deadpool.

The game looks interesting and enjoyably over the top. Are you looking forward to it?
